5th National Pharmacovigilance Week 2025
Navodaya Education Trust’s N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur, successfully organized the 5th National Pharmacovigilance Week from 17th to 23rd September 2025.
The week-long celebration was conducted under the theme “Your safety, just a click away: report to PvPI”, emphasizing the importance of adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting and the role of healthcare professionals in safeguarding patient health.
The inaugural programme was held in the presence of eminent dignitaries, academicians, faculty, students, and invited guests at Dr. S. R. Hegde Hall.
Inaugural Programme
The function commenced with the welcoming of dignitaries on the dais. The programme was presided over by Dr. H. Doddayya, Principal, N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Sri. S. R. Reddy, Hon’ble Chairman, Navodaya Education Trust, Raichur.

The event was convened by Mr. Binu K. M., Associate Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacy Practice, N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur.
Programme Highlights
The formal proceedings began with a soulful invocation song presented by Ms. Pragathi and Shraddha, setting a serene and respectful atmosphere for the day.
This was followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. T. Shivraj Gouda, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology, N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur.
The dignitaries then participated in the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing knowledge, wisdom, and enlightenment.
Chief Guest’s Address
In his address, the Chief Guest Sri. S. R. Reddy stressed the significance of pharmacovigilance and its role in patient safety. He highlighted the need for healthcare professionals to actively participate in ADR reporting for better drug safety monitoring.
The presidential remarks were delivered by Dr. H. Doddayya, who underlined the vision of Navodaya Education Trust in fostering research, innovation, and awareness in the field of pharmacy education.
A special highlight of the programme was the release of ADR promotional materials and public awareness leaflets, aimed at spreading awareness beyond academic boundaries.
The resource person of the day, Mrs. Durga Sravani A., was felicitated for her valuable contribution to the field.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Pradnya B. Patil, followed by high tea for all attendees.
Scientific Session
The session began with the introduction of the resource person by Mrs. Aparna Lakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology, N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur.
The guest lecture was delivered by Mrs. Durga Sravani A., Operation Specialist and Safety Specialist, IQVIA Biotech, Bangalore, on the topic “ADR Monitoring and Pharmacovigilance – Role of Healthcare Professionals.”
Her session, which lasted for one hour, provided deep insights into the mechanisms of ADR monitoring, the importance of pharmacovigilance, and the shared responsibility of doctors, pharmacists, and nurses in ensuring patient safety.
The lecture was highly interactive, enlightening the audience about real-time challenges and practices in drug safety.
The scientific session was moderated by Dr. T. Shivraj Gouda, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology, N.E.T Pharmacy College, Raichur, who ensured smooth conduct and active engagement during the session.
Felicitation and Conclusion
Towards the end of the scientific deliberations, a certificate of appreciation was presented to the resource person, Mrs. Durga Sravani A., as a token of gratitude for her expert contribution.
Certificates were also distributed to the delegates who actively participated in the programme.
The entire event concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem, marking a dignified closure.
